# Commission Management

### Process and Module Integration

Commission management is a complex topic. In our design, sales channel module only manages the commission status changes and statements.

In order to process commission for the full lifecycle, usually there's a need of multiple modules working together via integration:

1. Define sales channel and commission rate in sales channel.
2. Calculate premiums and commissions in policy admin.
3. Generate premiums and commission fee in policy admin.
4. Generate AR/AP in BCP and commissions in sales channel.
5. Collect/refund AR/AP in BCP.
6. Commission status changes in sales channel.
7. Commission single/massive settlement in sales channel.
8. Commission single/massive refund in BCP.


### Status Change

Commissions have different status changes according to business transaction:

1.  PA issues a policy. Commission status is **Pending**.
2.	Finance department collects the premiums without offsetting commissions. Commission status changes from **Pending** to **Waiting for Issue**.
3.	Finance department collects the premium with commissions offset. Commission status changes from **Pending** to **Offset**.
4.	In single/massive settlement, several commissions are synthesized and submit the data to finance department. Commission status changes from **Waiting for Issue** to **Settled**.
5.	Finance department has received the single/massive settlement and paid the premium. Commission status changes from **Settled** to **Paid**.


### Query Commission

1.  Purpose: Query the commissions in detailed level.
2.  Prerequisites: Commission records have been generated by business transaction.
3.  Users can search for commission records by multiple search criteria.
4.  Explanation of commission status:
    - **Pending**: The premium is not fully paid in finance department, and the commission is in **Pending** status.
    - **Waiting for Issue**: After the premium is fully paid in finance department, the commission is in **Waiting for Issue** status.
    - **Settled**: When the commission is confirmed to be paid out in commission settlement, the commission is in **Settled** status.
    - **Offset**: When user applies for commission to offset the premium in finance department, the commission is in **Offset** status.
    - **Paid**: When user has paid the commission in finance department, the commission is in **Paid** status.
5.  User can export the commission to an Excel file to view these records.

Supports **Export to Excel** for offline analysis. Rows can be expanded to view underlying transaction details.

### Query Settlement

1.  Purpose: query the history of the corresponding settlement and view the commission details corresponding to the settlement.
2.  Prerequisites: Settlement records have been generated by business transaction.
3.  User can search for settlement records by multiple search criteria.
4.  Explanation of settlement status:
    - **Outstanding for payment**: A bill will be sent to finance department but is still not paid.
    - **Paid**: Finance department has paid the commission.
5.  User can click the icon of magnifying glass to view **Commission Details**.
6.  Users can export each settlement to an Excel file.

Settlement list shows **Total Amount** per settlement and **Payment Method** (e.g. Cash). Supports detail view via magnifying glass icon and export per settlement.
